There are two public beaches in the area that are great to visit – just note, the water tends to be clear but there are times where it’s a little murky. Shelling is also big here so there is a shell line to avoid if you have sensitive feet.

- South Beach – lots of spots but parking fills up quickly so get there early, a bit more crowded.

The waters are warm, clear, and the sand is white. Typically, Naples beaches are closer to restaurants and shopping nearby, which is an added perk. There are also more options for public beaches.

How to Get There and Get Around
Getting to Naples or Marco Island is simple! Fly into the Southwest Florida International Airport, which is just a short 40ish minute drive to Naples and an hour to Marco Island.
To reach Marco Island and Naples, take the Tamiami Trail (also known as US-41) from Miami or Fort Myers or highway 75.
If you’re heading to Marco Island, take the Collier Boulevard (County Road 951) exit and continue until you cross the bridge onto the island.
For Naples, take the Pine Ridge Road exit to reach downtown Naples.
Do You Need a Car?
I would recommend a car for both destinations. There’s a lot of ground to cover for each, and if you want to explore around the area a car is the best way to do it.
While there are ride-sharing options available, having your own vehicle gives you the freedom to come and go as you please. It also gives you the freedom to not have to worry about grabbing a ride every time you want to go somewhere.

Sure, you have to worry about parking if you have a car but a lot of the area is pretty spread out and having a car makes it a lot easier to get around and see more.
That being said, if you’re staying in a central location and don’t plan on venturing too far from your hotel, you may not need a car. There are areas with shops, restaurants and more that are somewhat walkable – so it’s ultimately up to you.
